About the Company

Formed in July 1995 with the assistance of a five-year matching grant from the U.S. Small Business Administration’s Office of Women’s Business Ownership, the Women's Business Development Center fosters business development and retention by enabling individuals to launch, build, and expand businesses. While the center targets low- to moderate-income women, our services are open to all individuals.

WBDC offers a comprehensive menu of training, counseling, and networking programs and services. WBDC continuously offers the following programs:

• Entrepreneurial Training
• Finance
• Public/Private Sector Procurement
• Technology
• Child Care

WBDC also provides loan packaging assistance, access to capital, and women’s business enterprise (WBE) certification. WBDC’s services are delivered through quality training programs and individualized one-on-one counseling.

To date, WBDC has provided information, business assessment, training, and counseling services to over 5,000 potential and existing business owners. By offering a full range of services and using the expertise of successful business owners to deliver its programs, WBDC is Greater Philadelphia’s focal point for economic empowerment opportunities.
