The Temple University Small Business Development Center
(SBDC) is one of seven outreach centers of the Fox School
of Business and Management. The Center was founded in 1978,
and became a member of the network of seventeen Pennsylvania
Small Business Development Centers in 1983. All SBDCs
are part of a national network of university-based centers,
providing a full range of consulting services to small businesses.
The Temple SBDC provides high quality business management
consulting and training to aspiring entrepreneurs and small
emerging growth companies in Southeastern Pennsylvania.
Our mission is to help small businesses grow and succeed.
Management Consulting Services
Temple SBDC offers business management consulting services
in a number of different areas. Areas of service include:
accounting, advertising, business plan preparation and evaluation,
business analysis, cash flow management, computer applications,
e-commerce, financial management, government procurement,
human resources, legal issues, loan packaging, marketing,
market research, personnel management, product development,
sales, strategic planning and technology. Other services
include the following: International Trade Services, Procurement
Technical Assistance Program, Environmental Management Assistance,
Legal Clinic, Creative Department, and Defense Economic
Transition Assistance (DETA).
Training
Temple SBDC also offers training with workshops such
as the Entrepreneurial Success Workshop Series, the Construction
Management Certificate Program, and the North Philadelphia
Initiative.
